The $70 million OLG lottery prize is still up for grabs, and even though a full year has gone by, OLG remains hopeful that someone will come forward to claim this extraordinary jackpot.

The winning ticket was drawn on June 28, 2022, and as per OLG's rules, it is valid for one year from that date, creating a sense of urgency as the deadline approaches.

With the expiration date closing in, it's important for players to verify their tickets, especially since it's nearly been a year since the purchase was made.

The ticket was purchased in the Scarborough region of Toronto, providing a specific location that may help identify the winner.

Tony Bitoni, who serves as a representative for OLG, stated: “Someone out there purchased a Lotto Max ticket – whether they spent five, ten, or $15 – with the dream of winning $70 million. Yet, astonishingly, no one has claimed it yet. Our primary goal is to ensure that the rightful holder of this ticket receives their due prize.”

Bitoni speculated that the circumstances hint at a lost ticket, as there's been no indication that anyone has checked the ticket using the OLG app, at a lottery terminal, or within a retail outlet.

He confirmed they have records of the store that sold the ticket, including the time of the sale and the amount paid. “If you can provide those details, our forensic team will step in to verify your claim and confirm you are indeed the legitimate owner,” he added.

This isn’t the first instance where a lottery ticket has gone unclaimed. While most winners rush to claim their earnings, Bitoni emphasized that many winning tickets do not get claimed each year .
